With every sketchbook I've had since highschool, I crack it open to the first perfect page and write in big letters: "THIS IS THE FIRST PAGE." Then I doodle around it.
It's a ritual that gets things started, sets the tone. It establishes that this book is mine and nothing needs to be too serious. Everytime the page is different, influenced by what I was influenced by most recently.
And that's what is happening here. Hi, I'm Megan. I make art. I also enjoy looking at art. I can't be serious about much. I enjoy reading and writing. I am not sure what this will blossom into; I have no grand plan yet. Let's have a cup of tea (or coffee, whatever your jam is), and chat.
Thank you for existing.
You're doing great, kid.
I just joined as well.
